Larry G. Wakefield

Larry G. Wakefield has more than 20 years experience in the investigation field. Larry is a private pilot and airplane owner, and provides pro bono services for organizations and community services.

Mr. Wakefield’s professional interest in security began in the U.S. Marines where he served aboard a Naval aircraft carrier as a nuclear weapons security specialist. This is also when Mr. Wakefield began to study martial arts and to develop his firearms skills.

As a graduate of the Flagstaff Arizona Police Academy, he served with the Flagstaff Police Department for three years and became the first officer to qualify to carry an auto–loading pistol. Mr. Wakefield served as a State Criminal Investigator for Arizona’s State Attorney’s General. Later while employed with the U.S. Justice Department, he served as a firearms instructor, self defense instructor for the Special Operations Response Team (SORT) and the SORT sniper. Mr. Wakefield has been a licensed Private Investigator for over 15 years, specializing in fraud investigations, surveillance, locates, counter–intelligence, background investigations and security.

Mr. Wakefield holds a 3^rd Degree Black Belt in TaeKwon Do and 2^nd Black Belt in Yabinjin–Te Kindai Bushi–do. He is a practitioner and Black Belt in Aiki Jujitsu, and student of philosophy, strategy and tactics. Mr. Wakefield has been involved in the martial arts for over 25 years, and currently teaches in Phoenix Arizona.

In addition, Mr. Wakefield holds a Master rating with the Practical Pistol Conference and has received eight expert ratings from the Gunsite Training Center in pistol, carbine, shotgun and bolt rifles. He also has expert ratings from the Illinois Police Tactics Institute and the North American Weapons & Tactics Training Center in Tactics and Marksmanship. He is a certified firearms instructor for the U.S. Justice Department and a Concealed Weapons Instructor for the Arizona Department of Public Safety. Mr. Wakefield has been featured in Soldier of Fortune, Fighting Firearms, Tactical Shooters, and Guns & Weapons of Law Enforcement magazines, and other national publications.
